PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Accessibility Project Experience – High-Profile and Award-Winning NZ Projects
With over 16 years as a dedicated accessibility consultant in New Zealand, I’ve contributed expert guidance on accessibility compliance and universal design across some of the country’s most complex and high-profile developments.
My experience spans every building type from healthcare, sports, civic, cultural, transport, and public realm infrastructure. I work collaboratively with project teams to ensure NZ Building Code accessibility requirements are met without compromising design intent, while maximizing the end user experience where possible to do so within the project brief and budget.
Many of these projects have gone on to win national and international design awards, highlighting the value of integrating accessibility from the outset.

WIDER PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
I’ve worked across a broad spectrum of public and private sector projects in my time, bringing accessibility expertise to virtually every building type and environment.
This experience includes extensive work on:
Civic and community infrastructure – such as town halls, war memorials, libraries, museums, and art galleries
Transport and public spaces – including railway stations, bus interchanges, streetscapes, and pedestrian networks
Healthcare and education – from kindergartens and schools to hospitals, retirement villages, and medical centres
Commercial and hospitality environments – including offices, banks, retail spaces, cafés, restaurants, hotels, and event venues
Recreational and cultural sites – such as stadiums, pools, parks, reserves, botanical gardens, and even traveling circuses
Heritage and religious buildings, industrial facilities, accommodation, and more
This wide-ranging project history has given me a deep understanding of how accessibility applies across sectors and settings, and how to work pragmatically with design teams to find solutions that are both effective and appropriate to the context.
